Hi everybody !

My name is Michael, and I am a French Photographer living in the outskirts of Paris.

I have, since 1995, been increasingly interested in and involved with photography and was very lucky indeed to come more than once across a number of professional photographers who passed their knowledge and know-how on to me.

My career as a photographer has started by the “Artistic Nude” in 1996. I was supported and initiated in doing so by Catherine Ratier, in her capacity both as a woman and as a professional photographer.

Four years of close cooperation and great friendship followed thereto. It was during the year 2000 that, weary of both studios and a number of a models’ attitude, I have chosen to leave and involve myself with a completely different activity like “metal circle” I have therefore joined the metal media environment, the musical style of which had already nourished my childhood, and of which I keep being extremely fond as a grown-up.

I have, during the period between 2000 and 2004, been travelling and came across interviewed and photographed most of the current metal circle outstanding bands. I have eventually put an end to that in October 2004. Once again tired by my working within an environment that suited me no more, I then felt it was about time to end up professional relations that proved more and more suffocating.

“Gothic Area” was created on December 2004, and a number of highly interesting meetings enable me to devote myself body and soul to this new adventure. While going uphill-downhill (with huge successes and tremendous fiascos), Gothic Area keeps heading forward, while harmoniously melting aesthetics, sexiness, glamour and nude with two main operating modes, I named gothic and fetish.

Whereas the year 2007 was a tough one to work (both health and technical problems), it was nevertheless rich in encounters, out of which a new cooperation would arise in 2008, with an outstanding model, a young lady of multiple gifts with whom various projects are currently being scheduled, and who should shortly be the official representative of Gothic Area by being its Muse.
